Another gem form the guys at Into Combat, JC Santana and Rhadi Fergusson. The more I read and see from these guys, the more I realize these guys are at the top of the field of fight training and conditioning.
The final count down package has the DVD of Jeff Monson's final workout 10 days out before fighting in the UFC. Also included is a quick start companion guide, 3 Disc Audio CD set with questions and answers, an Audio CD on the secrets of success in MMA, and a DVD on the day in the life of a champion.
The DVD is made up of basically two workouts, one is Jeff doing his MMA focused training the other is Rhadi, doing pretty much the same workout but with a Judo focus. Jeff and Rhadi are both big units, and you can see why after watching this.
It really impressed me how Into Combat get specific with there athletes, not just sport specific exercises, but exercises that are geared towards that particular athletes style of fighting. Jeff's workout is basically broken down into Tri-plexes, which are 3 fight specific exercises, during the workout they'll do 5 or 6 Tri-plexes, with full fighting intensity. The workout is not long but very, very intense.
If your a iron head like me your probably thinking 'yeah I've seen it all'. One of the reasons I liked the original S.A.I.D. MMA DVD so much was the new and varied exercises on the DVD. The final count down does it again. This is new stuff again, and gives you some great ideas for getting fight ready. When you see the exercises on the DVD you see why they'd be so helpful in fight prep.
The companion guide is a big help while studying the DVD. The guide explains the how to's and why's of each exercise that Jeff and Rhadi perform. It also explains substitutes for the exercise if you don't have the specific gear. For example the final burner that Jeff and Rhadi do is a circuit using the Kaiser runner and dumbbell pummeling. For the dumbbell pummeling you just need dumbbells, but not many Gyms have a Kaiser machine. JC and Rhadi suggest you do stationary running against a wall instead of the Kaiser.
Since I've watched the DVD I've tried two of the tri-plexes, you'll get some weird looks at the gym, but the exercise are fantastic. The rest of the package including the audio CDs gives you a really good insight into Into Combats methodologies, and will really help put your training inline with correct and more efficient training principles.

Excellent product relating to fighting, get to see UFC training from some of the best "live" as it happens!! Doesn't give you all the jargon and the manual ensures some 'theory' behind the application.

I got this just the other day and was very impressed!! Even though alot of gear is required it doesn't take alot of imagination to work out ways of doing these triplexes at your local Gym. Very Cool!!!
