This is from the guys at Into Combat - Rhadi Ferguson and JC Santana. In case you've been living in a cave for the past couple of years Into Combat have been training such top notch fighters as Jeff Monson, who is currently kicking but in the UFC and submission wrestling tournaments. These guys are the kings of MMA conditioning.
The DVD is based around the Into Combat S.A.I.D principle Specific Adaptations to Implied Demands. In other words specific exercises based around a fighters unique needs.
The DVD comprises of warm up exercise using the Swiss ball and exercise bands. These full body warm ups covering upper, lower and core muscle groups. There are two main circuits on the DVD that are fully geared to MMA. Each circuit goes from 3 to 5 minutes per round, depending on your fitness levels and functional strength. When training the circuits you are advised to do as many circuits as rounds in the particular match you are training for.
The circuits are fantastic. I gave them a blast the other night and thought I was going to die. They simulate very closely the physical demand of a fight minus the hits. I was so impressed I'm going to use these circuits training for my next fight in October. I'll keep you all posted on a training blog I'm going to be setting up.
You'll need a bit of gear for the circuits but nothing over the top and nothing you can't find at your local gyms or fitness stores. Training gear you'll need is: medicine ball, Swiss ball, dumbbell hand weights (not to heavy), something to pull up on, kick/punch bag, rubber exercise bands and a medicine ball with a rope through it. With the last item I just got my medicine ball and put it in a towel and used the ends as a handle, pretty much the same thing. Once you have these items your rock'n roll.
The workouts are hard but fun, I really loved the creativity of them. It got me excited about training for a fight. Also JC and Rhadi's enthusiasm is infectious, you can't help but get excited. This DVD is a big 10 outa 10. These guys are going to change the face of MMA training, I can see this stuff catching on fast. Good work Into combat.

After note:
I've been doing circuit #1 for just over two weeks now and have noticed a considerable difference in my rolling endurance. My time is gradually increasing, although I've got a way to go before I get close to the times they were pulling of on the DVD.

Liked the DVD alot, just wish you did'nt need so much gear. I'd love to see a s.a.i.d. DVD with body weight only exercises.

This is a great DVD my MMA specific fitness has gone through the roof. In my last MMA fight I owned my opponent because of these circuits. This kind of training is taking MMA to a whole new professional level. We just need better pay packets as fighters now, and all will be good.
